Stacey Jones, Ph.D.

Biography

Stacey Jones, Ph.D. serves as a Scientific Advisor in the areas of chemistry and biotechnology.

Dr. Jones assists with prior art research, patent application drafting and patent prosecution before the USPTO, and corresponds with foreign associates to guide the prosecution of foreign applications.

Dr. Jones has over 10 years of research experience at the interface of biology and chemistry. He brings a broad research background in bioorganic and medicinal chemistry, including experience with enzyme mechanism studies, protein engineering, and structural analysis of biomolecular complexes.

Dr. Jones earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemistry from Emory University, where his graduate work centered on the study of complex enzymatic systems, with a focus on metalloenzymes and cofactor-dependent transformations. His contributions span the design and characterization of biological catalysts, the incorporation of unnatural amino acids into proteins, and the application of structural and spectroscopic methods to probe molecular interactions.

Dr. Jones has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications in journals including Journal of the American Chemical Society, ACS Chemical Biology, Nucleic Acids Research, and ChemBioChem. He has presented his work at national scientific meetings and has received multiple awards for research, leadership, and service, including the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.
